An Elemental Golem has been summoned and is wreaking havoc across the island. Can you cast enough magical protections to save your settlements?

When a 7 is rolled, the Elemental Golem is summoned and begins its path of destruction. The player that rolled the 7 will place the Elemental Golem on a land hex of their choice. Any hex with a Elemental Golem no longer produces resources and players built on that hex lose 1 resource to the Elemental—returning 1 resource of their choice to the bank. Once the Elemental Golem is placed, it immediately goes on a rampage.

INSTRUCTIONS

Summoning

When a 7 is rolled, the Elemental Golem is summoned and begins its path of destruction. The player that rolled the 7 will place the Elemental Golem on a land hex of their choice. Any hex with a Elemental Golem no longer produces resources and players built on that hex lose 1 resource to the Elemental—returning 1 resource of their choice to the bank. Once the Elemental Golem is placed, it immediately goes on a rampage.

Rampage

Immediately after the summoning, the Elemental Golem begins to rampage across connected roads and ships, even if no settlement or city is present. For each settlement or city that is connected to the original hex by either roads or ships (or a combination of), one additional resource is lost UNLESS the path is protected by Magical Protection. Magical Protections act as a barrier and prevent the rampage of the Elemental Golem.

Magical Protection cost:

  • 1 Ore (for the stone alter),
  • 1 Sheep (for the sacrificial offering),
  • 1 Wood (for burning the sacrificial offering)

Magical Protection

You may build one or more Magical Protections around any of your settlements or cities during your turn, after resources have been distributed. Magical Protections act as a barrier to prevent the rampage of the Elemental Golem, protecting both the settlement or city they surround and all subsequent roads or ships from the rampage.

Elemental Wizard

The first player to build 3 Magical Protections receives the Elemental Wizard card granting +2 Victory Points. Any player that builds more Magical Protections takes the card.
