During a flight to a new quadrant, your ship arrives at a point bordering an unexplored space square with a mysterious asteroid belt. What treasures will you find?
Asteroid Cards contain 1, 2, or 3 stars; some include a one-time bonus of a half-fame medal or resource. When discovered, immediately take the reward from the supply. The first player to collect 5 or more stars receives the Star Hopper Victory Point card.

Setup Instructions Arrange the board for the Explorer Variant (Page 18 of the Catan Starfarer's Almanac). Remove the STARHOPPER, SETUP INSTRUCTIONS, and PLAYER CARD cards from the deck.
Shuffle the remaining cards and lay face down with the asteroids facing up.
Place 1 card on each space quadrant. If possible, do not cover any spatial points.
Keep the unused cards face down and remove them from the game.
Player Instructions During a flight, if your trading or colony ships arrive at a point bordering an unexplored (hidden) space square, take the Asteroid Card before taking the quadrant.
Flip the Asteroid Card and place it face up in front of you.

Scout cards remain face up in front of you. Their quantity must be visible.
